Oosteuropees Songfestival deel zoveel

Het heeft me helemaal te pakken, de Oosteuropese muziek! Ik vond het Songfestival de laatste jaren al boeiender dan het gezapige Abba-gekloon dankzij deze ontwikkeling. De Moldaven Zdob Si Zdub (schijnt "sla op de drums" te betekenen) waren wel de verrassendste inzending ooit met hun Pogues-achtige ethno-punk!

Ik heb inmiddels al meer van ze gedownload en ik vind ze steeds beter!

Ik schreef elders een verhaaltje over deze groep reageerde de Roemeense Belg Octavian. Hij raadde me een nummer van Activ(Doar Cu Tine). Volgens Octavian is het een discogroep, maar denk niet dat dat gelijk staat aan Boney M of zo... Dit is GOED!!! Dit is STEENGOED!!!

Je mag eigenlijk niet zeggen dat je mp3's moet downloaden, maar voor deze muziek, die waarschijnlijk nog niet echt massaal bij de cd-winkels te krijgen is, maak ik graag een uitzondering. Het wordt hoog tijd dat we dit soort muziek beter leren kennen!

Ik moet bekennen dat ik nog niet goed de verschillen tussen de landen hoor, maar ik oefen hard, dit is echt nieuw voor me!

Zdob si Zdub are returning home with their heads up.
Zdob si Zdub amazed Europe.
Zdob si Zdub made for their country almost the impossible:
with a miserable budget, incomparable with the one of other artists,
with a totally limited time for preparation,
without a sufficient promotion,
without the real support promised by the officials,
Zdob si Zdub managed to qualify the poorest and unknown country from Europe – Moldova, on a dignified place – 6th!
This way, Moldova will directly participate in the finals of Eurovision 2006 in Greece.

Thank you Romania, Ukraine, Lithuania, Portugal, Russia and other countries for your support!

Zdob si Zdub would’ve given fraternally 12 points to Romania! Romania, Zdub si Zdub apologizes on behalf of Moldova for its faithlessness. We think that reality is different and actually Moldavians voted for Romania!
