Katrina

Also I just wanted everyone to be aware that New Orleans is still in very bad shape. A lot of places are still dead and uninhabitable and as if it happened yesterday. Today in the ninth ward they found another body. Yes 16 months after the storm they are still finding bodies.
The crime has risen astronomically as well. The rebuilding process is extremely slow and its all about money and red tape and politics. Rents for apartments are extremely expensive and unaffordable. It just doesn't look too good right now for this city and if anyone reading this has ever been to New Orleans pre-Katrina, well it ain't the same. The quarter or French Quarter is no where near what it was pre-K.
The good thing is the Saints are doing a wonderful job of winning their games but I don't think I could ever go into the dome or the convention center ever again knowing what really happened there.
I know a lot of people that were at both places and I heard the horror stories. Its just sad to know that this city is a part of America and not much has been done. Yes I hear about all these charities giving to Katrina victims but I haven't seen a dime of it except from FEMA and thats it. I am not asking for anything except a real home like I had pre-K. I will get there eventually it just takes some time and a lot of patience that I am running out of.
